EAT, DRINK, & BE SCARY

Join us on Saturday, October 31, Halloween Night for the 2nd Annual Living Dead Festival in Evans City, PA. EDCO Park was the filming site for George Romero’s cult classic Night of the Living Dead and will be taken over once again by ghouls this full moon weekend. More than a dozen cast & crew members will be on hand for autographs including John Russo, Russ Streiner, & Judith Ridley. Get your ghoul on with special face painting for the Ghoul Fest in the park at dark. Jesters Court Tattoos will be on hand for some special NOTLD tats. Norman & the guys will be performing at 7pm with a special screening of Song of the Dead to follow. This is the film that stars Shari Richards and Norman as Melissa and Blake Warfield. Then, Night of the Living Dead will be shown on a 15- by 20-ft screen for the night’s grand finale. For more information visit: www.thelivingdeadfest.com

STUDIO NEWS

Production wrapped up on The Blues Come Blowin In with the addition of some sublime muted coronet, blown by Mark Custer. Mark can be seen playing locally with The Steel City Brass Band and The Blues Orphans. This song can be heard as the credits roll on Jack Russo’s short film, Song of the Dead. The interplay between Custer’s coronet and Shari Richard’s lead vocal is HAUNTING!

Lifelong Redskin’s fan Glenn Pavone added his unbiased guitar licks to Stiller Nation last month. Ron ‘Moondog’ Esser sang his heart out as a lifelong Steeler fan. Polka legend Dave Dombroski squeezed pure joy out of his accordion. All of this to bring life to Norman’s composition, Stiller Nation.

The Manful Handful is devoting the whole month of October to mixing his new release, Bonifide. Once tried, it can’t be denied, this rock & roll is Bonifide!

REGE BEHE TALKS PRODUCTION

The Pittsburgh Tribune Review featured an article on music production last month. Rege Behe included Norman’s experience in the studio as well as Sean McDonald, Larry Luther and Mitch Easter. Check it out: http://www.pittsburghlive.com/x/pittsburghtrib/ae/music/s_642462.html
