Norman Nardini Official e-Newsletter Issue #18 ◊ April 2010 HE’S BAAACK! It has been a long winter for all of us and thankfully spring is here. Like some big black bear, Norman has finally emerged from his hibernation! This Friday night will be the Manful Handful’s first appearance in quite some time. He will be opening for the legendary blues band The Nighthawks at Moondogs. The show starts at 9:00 pm, so be sure to get there early to support Norman and the guys. This will be the first Pittsburgh appearance of the new Nighthawks with Mark Stutso playing drums. Mark will be featured singing Million Tears in the Nighthawks set. This song was written by Norman and is included on the Rock My Soul cd Mark released a couple of years ago. DIRTY DIAMONDS, A REDISCOVERED MASTERPIECE UK’s Rock Candy Records is reissuing the 1976 Dirty Diamonds LP by Diamond Reo. According to label owner Derek Oliver, ‘The Dirty Diamonds album has become something of a rediscovered masterpiece over the years.’ Dave Reynolds, a highly respected music journalist in the UK, has been commissioned to write the essay that will accompany this release. The late Warren King’s blazing guitar riffs dominate this music along with Frank Czuri’s amazing vocals. The rhythm section features the late Rob Johns on drums and Norman on bass guitar. STUDIO UPDATE Although Norman hasn’t been seen in the clubs lately, he has been busy working on music. The past couple of months have been used to continue work on the JJ Burner project.
