Gig Updates
August 21, 2009-Friday
Moondogs:
Blawnox, PA
Every now and then ya run into one a’ dem nights
dat ya can’t get ya mind right. Spent da whole dam show tryin to get
right. We played pretty well straight thru but my mind was not right.
“Rebel Rouser” led to “Boilermaker” on thru to “Somethin’s Cookin”. At
this point, I brought ole friend, Neil Gerjuoy onstage to blow some
killer harp on a few numbers “Shit House Rat”, “When Times Was Good” and
“Comin Home”. I like how da harp sounded. We sent “Bow Legged Woman” out
to my sister and Stutso sang da crap outta dat thang. “Stiller Nation”
was very well received, must be gittin close to da opener. “High Times”
opened the second set and “When I Die And Go To Hell” was the highlight.
Don’t know why, but for some crazy reason I just started up “Town With
No Name” towards the end of the night, hadn’t done dat joint in a while.
August 15, 2009-Saturday
Ziggy’s:
Tarentum, PA
When I got to the joint there was some jamming
going on. Warren King was smoking some plank with Ray, also on guitar,
and Big Riff Mitchell shoutin out loud. We came on and did a two hour
set that flew by, in the wink of an eye. Saw ole buddy Murph behind da
bar n’ my brother Ace da shining LA star. “Rebel Rouser”, “Somethin’s
Cookin”, “Nightclub”… we was bringin it to da peoples. Stutso sang a
crushing take of “Three Times Your Fool” and the house went nuts, so I
made sure that he sang a bunch. “Million Tears”, “You Go Your Way”,
“Victoria’s Secret”, “It’s My Own Fault”, “Work Together”. We had a
couple strong requests for “Smoke Two Joints” which went well and went
even better when I handed my guitar to Warren “Kingfish” King during da
solo at da very nipple of da jam. I instantly put dat hamburger down n’
guess what, I started dancing just as good as I wanted to. “I hate A
Nickel” came off real clean wit WK lickin it up as did “Minimum Wage”.
Stay tuned for the
latest updates! Better yet, come to one of the shows and experience "The
Manful Handful" himself, first hand!
