Moondogs:
Blawnox, PA
The house was loaded with real
folks that come for the music and the miracle. And like
a miracle it was, one tune flowin to da next with the
rantings of a would be king splattered in there strong,
keepin it real. “Lazy Bones”, “Rebel Rouser”, “Rock n’
Roll City”, “Somethin’s Cookin”……….right from the first
hit, we was spankin da pony……right? We laughed
together….I was talking about my favorite names in
sports history……Dick Butt Kiss………Derek, Jeter?.......and
my new fave, Lu Caca Putti……..good stuff, huh? “Over
Said and Done” led to “Sh*t House Rat” …….then, Stutso
tore up “Three Times Your Fool” then ripped “Victoria’s
Secret”. “Rich Kid” really stood up, at the end of the
set. I saw Betty Lou and Rat, Nick da ginny, Bobby D,
nephew John, sister Ann and JP, Chooch and da family Z.
Set two simmered with “Mercy Mercy” as da kicker then
right into “Little Things.” Stutso sang “I Hate A
Nickel”………we shifted gears into “Hoochie Mama”……….then
back to Stutso to sing “If I Had A Child”……..special
request “Sick n’ Tired” came off real well as did just
about everything we played n’ just about everything I
had to say……….some times it’s like a miracle……n’
sometimes it’s even more like a miracle

Blue Knob
All Seasons Resort: Claysburgh, PA
We moved our gear out of the
banquet room to the room next to it, da bar……home sweet
home. I could tell dat tonight was gonna be cool just by
lookin at da locals in da house. We kicked things off
with a few casual grooves then brought regional favorite
Felix, of Felix and the Hurricanes, up on stage to join
us on guitar & vocals. “Minimum Wage” was the song I
chose to get Felix into our groove n’ he caught da feel
right off. We just rolled thru the set with tunes like
“Work Together”, “Bare Footin”, “Walkin To My Baby” n’
had a blast playin with dat big strong hulk of a man dey
call Felix. This young guy asked if we knew any Eric
Clapton so Felix sang this tune that I didn’t know
called “Rock n’ Roll Heart” dat kicked a**. He also sang
“Sweet Home Alabama” which is a song I’ve never really
played before……guess that’s hard to believe,
but……”Somethin’s Cookin” & “I Hate A Nickel” both felt
good with da four piece setup. We did “Burnin’ Up” n’
“Rich Kid” three piece, then brought Felix up for tunes
like “Good Hearted Woman”, “Amazin Grace” and “Lover
Please” which all took on a jam feel………fun stuff |
